THE ART OF HARMONY

“Maximum Effectiveness with Minimum Aids”

“What if you could move your body exactly as intended by nature—with economy and ease as well as with mental awareness and clarity?”

That’s what the Feldenkrais Method is all about. Feldenkrais said that the purpose of his method was to “make the impossible possible, the hard easy and the easy elegant.”

The Dave Thind Method (DTM) is all about that same Feldenkrais journey, but Dave, an international-level dressage rider, invites the participant to imagine applying those micro awarenesses to riding a horse. The ideal equestrian result is maximum effectiveness with minimal aids. Harmony grows from the economy and ease of movement, awareness and clarity that is learned while lying, sitting or standing quietly on a mat in class.

“The Feldenkrais journey with Dave is enlightening and delightful. Try it.

Your horse will thank you.

TRUE CONNECTION

Knowing what to do isn't the same as feeling how.

“Relax your hands.” “Keep your shoulders back…” A rider hears these instructions often. Yet the words do not always reveal what the body needs to feel.

Less correction. More conversation.

What does connection—an honest connection—mean to you?

As lifelong learners, improving each horse’s understanding and usage of its body to develop a more honest, optimal connection and circle of aids is our job. It is a lifelong mission, and there is always more to discover.

You’ve heard it—and perhaps taught it: “Relax your hands.” “Keep your shoulders back…”

But knowing what to do isn’t the same as feeling how.

Riding knowledge passes from trainer to rider, generation to generation. Yet the words don’t always reveal the subtle coordination that accomplished riders have learned to feel.

Now imagine your shoulders softening, your elbows following, and your hands becoming quieter—so your horse can meet a lighter, more elastic invitation.

Many riders hesitate to let go—not because they fear falling or their horse running away, but because they haven’t yet experienced that releasing unnecessary tension can give them more influence, not less.

Imagine the activity of the hind legs travelling forward, over a supple, swinging back, into a soft, receiving contact—helping the horse develop a beautiful topline and healthy, harmonious movement for both horse and rider.

But that circuit must be free of obstacles. A restrictive saddle or discomfort in the horse’s back can interrupt it. So can a rider who braces, holds one hip, or holds their breath.

To follow and guide that movement, the rider must be able to swing with the horse—quietly, freely, and with precise influence.

Learn to be your horse’s leading dance partner. After all, you have to be the leader for your horse.

Easier said than done? That’s exactly why I created this program. You can learn to feel, follow and guide this movement—and I will help you get there!

Less correction. More conversation.

Hint: It’s not really about your hands.

The Promise.

Sit tall—without trying so hard.

What if a beautiful seat was something you could feel rather than hold?

At the heart of this program is learning to learn. Instead of repeatedly correcting posture, you discover how your nervous system organizes movement—and what else may be possible.

A NEW WAY TO LEARN

NoticeFeel the familiar pattern
ExploreFind another way
DiscoverBring it into the saddle

The lasting gift: recognizing your own patterns and finding your way back to ease, long after each lesson ends.

THEN YOU GET BACK ON YOUR HORSE…

A spine finding length and suppleness. A body that follows rather than braces—and can quietly guide.

You feel the difference. Your horse may feel it too. And you know how to explore that ease again.

Not another pose to hold. A feeling of coming home.

Finally.An Answer to Your
Heartfelt Dreams.

For the rider who has worked so hard, yet knows there must be a more beautiful way to feel, move, and ride in harmony.

“To make the impossible possible, the possible easy, and the easy beautiful.”

— Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais

Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais created Awareness Through Movement lessons. The Dave Thind Method brings this spirit of discovery into the rider’s relationship with the horse.

A true gift to yourself, and your horse.
